The Apostolakis family and the olive
The Apostolakis family comes from the village of Metamorfosi, located in the Municipality of Monemvasia, Laconia (Peloponnese). Our family has been associated with olive farming and pure olive oil production for so long that the most distant memories and records of this relationship have faded into time. This is where our ancestors put down roots, even before our grandfather’s grandfather, alongside our olive trees. The proof is the century-old olive trees dotting our estate, beautifully reflecting our family’s unbreakable and timeless bond with the “lifesaving” olive fruit.
Now the reigns of the Apostolakis olive oil company have been handed over to the youngest generation of the family, which I have the honour and responsibility to represent.
My name is Kyriakos Apostolakis, and I am blessed to do what I love most. Cultivate olive trees – with the same passion and genuine interest as my family has been doing for over six generations; with ultimate respect to nature’s gifts; by integrating innovative improvements and the latest developments in agricultural methods into all stages of olive oil production. From cultivation and harvest, cold extraction and packaging, to the distribution to the Greek and international market, all our processes comply with the highest standards of quality.
It is my dream to share with the world the gifts that my native land has been blessed with. If you are seeking an ultra-premium extra virgin olive oil of character, with memory and voice of its own, look no further. Salvation Olive Oil.
We are among the most promising olive oil producers in Greece.
An ancient variety within a wondrous micro-bio-system
Mediterranean olive oil 100% from Mirtoelia variety
Salvation extra virgin olive oil is amongst the premium Greek olive oil varieties and is exclusively produced by Mirtoelia or Mourtoelia. This is an ancient, yet not very common, Greek olive variety known for its unique nutritional value. It has been traditionally cultivated in the region of Laconia and produces high-quality extra virgin olive oil of Protected Geographical Indication.
Our olive grove in Laconia
Salvation virgin olive oil is harvested entirely from the 1,400 olive trees grown in our family-owned estate, “Tryzea”. The rare micro-biosystem within “Tryzea” gives Salvation olive oil its unique identity and refined taste. The location, orientation, micro-climate, and the well-tended olive groves contribute to the balanced flavor of our Mediterranean extra virgin olive oil.
The estate is located on the edge of the village of Metamorfosi, before the olive grove plains, on the foothills of Parnon at an altitude of 120 meters. It rests on a South-facing slope, at the point where two mountains meet. The grove’s microclimate is truly noteworthy. The currents formed within the valley air out the entire estate, continuously and evenly, protecting the olive trees from diseases commonly spread in the lowlands as a result of humidity and frost. Due to the high altitude of the slope, the temperature is higher in the winter, as cold air accumulates in the lowest parts of the valley, while in the summer the temperature rises. Finally, the rocky ground of the “Tryzea” estate ensures it drains well.
We use advanced oil-extraction processes to produce one of the most luscious Greek olive oil varieties.
